Every Life is committed to supporting education by providing scholarships, mentorship, and resources to students from low-income backgrounds. We believe education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a brighter future. Through partnerships with schools and community organizations, we help ensure students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Generational poverty often prevents families from prioritizing education. When income is needed for daily survival, children may be required to farm, work, or care for younger siblings while parents earn a wage. As a result, families often live day-to-day without the ability to plan for long-term educational goals.
In Kenya, only about 53% of students who complete primary school transition to high school, and even fewer graduate. The rising costs of school fees, books, supplies, and uniforms make secondary education unattainable for many families. As a result, many students never start high school or are forced to drop out, continuing the cycle of poverty.
We invite you to join us in our mission to make education accessible in Kenya

High School Sponsorship is is our fastest growing area of need.
Students take a national KCPE test at the end of 8th grade or (KPSEA at the end of 9th grade) and are placed in one of four classifications of high schools.
The first type is National School. These are reserved boarding schools to cater for those who scored in the top 20% and can afford the fee structure. The lowest type of school is the sub-county school and cater to the local community and is can be up to a 6 mile walk from students' homes. Those who cannot pay fees often stop their education and remain uneducated or delay until the financial resources are available. It's not unusual to find students at the secondary (high school) level who are considerably older than 18 and still in the first few years of high school because they lack financial resources.
As more students qualify to attend high school the funding required increases also. The current cost to sponsor a a high school student with fees, room & board, and uniforms is $200 per month
Students Eligible for High School Sponsorships must:

The transition from high school to , colleges, universities, or vocational programs—is even lower. Unfortunately, students from Kenya’s coastal region represent only a small portion of that already limited number. Coastal communities are often among the poorest in the country and have fewer educational opportunities compared to other regions.
This makes the Coach Mac Student Scholarship Fund even more important. By helping students complete high school, the fund opens the door for them to pursue further education and eventually provide for their families.

Mentorship plays a vital role in the success of the next generation. Without a shift in mindset away from generational poverty, the cycle will continue.
By emphasizing the value of education, forward thinking, and perseverance, students can learn to overcome the challenges common in rural Kenya. With guidance, opportunity, and support, this generation can experience long-term change and empowerment.
In addition to the requirements for high school sponsorships, post high school sponsorship students must also have qualifying grades

PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL SPONSORSHIPS
Nursery School education (ages 4-6) is required in Kenya in order to advance to Primary School. Until 2019 the government did not subsidize Nursery Schools and communities were left on their own to provide Nursery School education. As a result, many children were unable to enter primary school. The number of Nursery Schools is still insufficient to accommodate the many children. Every Life supports Nursery Schools through sponsorships to help with the challenges and to help impoverished families the opportunity to obtain an education for their children through supplementing the cost of school.
Cost to support a nursery school for 1 year $1800
Over the past 15 years Every Life has sponsored 3-6 nursery schools yearly providing education to 3,000 students and employing 9-12 teachers each year.
Become a Pre-Primary School Sponsor.
A full sponsorship for one year is $1800 or $150 per month.
A joint sponsorship is $900 per year or $75 per month.
We send sponsors annual reports so that they can see first-hand what their dollars are doing.
You can also visit your sponsored school on one of our mission trips.

School Desks have been an ongoing need since primary education became available to the public in 2003. Many schools in Kenya still lack the resources for educating students. Many students are still sitting on the floor using rocks as desks. Every Life has built 2800 school desks over the years and it is a great way to impact communities and enrich education.

School Desks are $40 each
