Lukolo is a Giriama term that means extended family. It refers to not only siblings, but cousins, cousins of cousins, aunt, uncles, in-laws of uncles and beyond. In short, if they have any relation to a relative of yours they are Lukolo. It is the family at large. When we began Every Life with the first trip in 2004, God put people in our pathway that we could never have imagined. We developed relationships, trust, and have had seasons of struggle and seasons of joy. But He established us as Lukolo in Malindi, Kenya.
This gallery of photos is titled Lukolo. We have tried to give a depiction of the individuals who have made up the teams of Every Life throughout the years and some of the projects and people they worked with. We have had 83 trips, 125 different volunteers ranging in age from 8 years old to 72 and 38 volunteers who have made repeated trips throughout the years. With thousands of photos we have attempted to include everyone and honor their investment well. Some photos may be a bit blurry simply because technology 20 years ago was not what it is today! We hope you enjoy browsing and reminiscing.
